Karmiel is special among Israeli cities. It is a modern Jewish city located in the Beautiful central Galilee region. The name Karmiel means Vineyard of G-d and the city has a population of about 50,000 good souls.
It was established in 1964 from a master urban plan that was created and implemented by the housing ministry. 16 families moved in and by 1981 they were elevated to the status of a city. In 1986 this wonderful city won two important awards for city management and services.
The city is esthetically beautiful as it sits among the hills in the Beit HaKerem Valley. It is an example of Jewish cooperation as it is home to Jews from 75 different nations.
The city has everything needed for a family to settle and live. It has numerous elementary and high schools and a religious school. It has sports center and indoor and out door shopping centers.

They say this about themselves, "ORT Braude College (OBC) was established in Karmiel with the goal of developing an academic center that would teach the different engineering fields and simultaneously work in cooperation with industry.....The College’s policy is to provide students with advanced, up-to-date engineering knowledge in sought after careers. The College is continually developing new study programs, in step with the country’s economic and industrial development."
Their College Library contains 27,000 books besides the hundreds and hundreds of other source materials on disks and files.
Karmiel has popular cultural life. Every year is the famous Karmiel Dance Festival.
There is over 120 events and about 5,000 dancers taking part from Israel and other nations.
With 250,000 people converging on this city for the event, the city becomes a spectacular display of cultural life and exuberance as the city is adorned music and dance.
