Ma'aleh Adumim מעלה אדומים

"This is the inheritance of the tribe of B'nai  Y'hudah, by their families....The northern border began at the bay of the Sea at the end of the Yarden; then the border went up to Beit Hoglah and passed north of Beit Aravah; next the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Re'uven; then the border went up to D'vir from the Akhor Valley, the northward facing Gilgal that is across from Ma'ale Adumim, which is on the south side of the valley..."Joshua.15:1,5-8

A person, who recently ascended to the city of Ma’ale Adumim and passed through the gates, later reflected and thought to himself that this is like a Royal city that stands on guard for a Royal city. Ma’ale Adumim sits on the top of a hill just 4.5 kilometers East of Holy Jerusalem. Its presence there secures the continued existence of the City of G-d for the Jewish people in our days.

When the Sun rises, its Glory first passes over Ma’ale Adumim then to Holy Jerusalem. It has a distinction and location that no other city in Israel has. It is a Jewel among the cities of G-d. When the sun sets the Shalom of G-d rests over the city.

This is the  reward for being the city, G-d has chosen, to guard the Eastern Side of Yerushalayim HaKodesh.

From this city one has the view of the Mount of Olives and mount Scopus. Turn around and you can see beyond the Jordan River. Yes wherever you view from the edge of the city you have the Judean and Binyamin Hills. You have not yet reached paradise but those who live there are not far away.

The city is incredible beautiful and peaceful. The stones that make up the buildings and line the streets are pleasant to the eye as well as the trees and other beautiful vegetation of the Holy Land.

    ;?

People living here in this city of 32,000 enjoy no less then a middle class standard of living and have all the benefits of an important western city less the crime and pollution.

Yes, in this immaculate city your children will have Joy. If you are orthodox you will find a place and a home here such as the modern orthodox district of Mitzpe Nevo and if you are not you also have a place among the diverse people. Choose the district you want to live in.

Ma’ale Adumim has one of Israel’s largest industrial zones with over 100 factories which is located outside the residential area. However if you want to work or go to  Holy Jerusalem for what ever reason you are less then ten minutes away. Imagine living on an isolated hill top oasis and then in a moment’s time you can be at the Kotel. What a life!

There is a highway that travels west from Ma’ale Adumim to Holy Jerusalem that took over three years to complete. It passes through a 550-meter long tunnel built through Mount Scopus under Hebrew university campus.

Ma’ale Adumim is a safe city and this makes it good for children.

This is one of the reasons the city is growing fast.

People want to move here. The children in the photo above are on their way to their ultra modern high school.

You can consider yourself part of the army of G-d because by living on this Jewish land you are defending the Holy City. A status few in Israel have. In ancient days the foreign armies that ruled Jerusalem first had to rule in Ma’ale Adumim. Those living here, Rule.

Here in this city you have a large Modern shopping mall like  you would find in a big American city except that almost everyone shopping here are Jews. Maybe that’s one reason there is not the crime found in western cities.

Because of its high elevation the night cools down after a warm day in order to give you a sweet night time sleep. When you wake up you have the option of going on a short drive to the Dead Sea.

A women who moved here from New York City described Ma’ale Adumim this way,

"It's like living in the suburbs of
Long Island in relation to New York City." And she also said, “this is a nice quiet place to live.”

No wonder she said that when you consider all the amenities this city has. You have great schools and religious institutions of learning.

You have a college and you are steps away from Hebrew University. Ma’ale Adumim has a large Library,

a music conservatory, and recreation and sports center including gyms. The city has indoor and out door swimming pools and tennis courts. A picnic area, a park and many places to shop. Here you have it all.

Yes including a Zoo.

“So when are you coming Home?!"

“Those who trust in HaShem are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so HaShem surrounds His people, from this time forth and forever.” (Psalms) 125:1-2,

הודו ל'' כי טוב כי לעולם חסדו
